HEALTH AND SAFETY EXPERT / TRAINER- MORE THAN 25 YEARS OF OIL & GAS EXPERIENCE.
Ali Al Ansari began his tenure at Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) in 1997, serving for over 25 years in various significant roles that enriched his technical understanding of both offshore and onshore oil and gas fields. For the last 15 years, he has worked as a Safety Engineer. Before this promotion, he was an Electrical Technician, where he was dealing with low, medium, and high voltage systems—troubleshooting activities, maintenance and commissioning new projects. This role allowed him to deepen his expertise in technical background , specially in the electrical and electronic engineering, paving the way for his transition into the HSE department, where he played a crucial role in developing policies, technical guidelines, and plans.
During his time in the Health and Safety department, Ali restructured and reinforced numerous HSE systems and procedures. His contributions included enhancing the accident investigation process, conducting HSE research and studies, and developing comprehensive HSE guidelines and regulations. He was instrumental in restructuring many HSE standards such as LOTO, Behavioral-Based Safety, internal safety audits, industrial inspections, contractor management, and safe work permits, along with risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA). Additionally, he supported the Crisis & Emergency Response Plan team during unexpected events.
Ali also customized various HSE training courses, restructured safety tours and inspection standards, and reviewed multiple personal protective equipment policies, including fire-retardant uniforms, safety helmets, goggles, different types of gloves, and footwear. He edited numerous operational and maintenance manuals and policies while adopting many international HSE standards. Furthermore, he developed and conducted health and safety training sessions, including induction courses, weekly safety schools, supervisory courses, and other related sessions.
Leveraging his extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, Ali currently works as a Health and Safety Expert and Trainer, accredited by the GCC Commercial Arbitration Center, ASSP, and IOSH. He is also an approved instructor for NEBOSH, IOSH, Highfield Qualifications, delivering internationally accredited professional HSE certificates and courses such as NEBOSH, Confined Space & Rescue, H2S, LOTO, Risk Assessment, and Fire Safety. Additionally, he participates as an external verifier and consultant, evaluating and reviewing HSE courses in accordance with the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) framework.
As a Health and Safety expert, Ali Al Ansari develops and implements workplace health and safety plans in accordance with legal guidelines. He fosters a culture of safety by preparing and enforcing policies, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with local and international laws. With a strong background in electrical and electronics engineering.
He conducts specialized safety training to communicate hazard control information, audits facilities, and identifies hazardous conditions. Ali also undertakes surveys to evaluate occupational health, safety, and environmental conditions, leveraging his technical expertise to provide consulting support that maintains a safe working environment.
